20 February 2024, Kuala Lumpur - Mereka Academy and Biji-biji Initiative received an invitation to eUSAHAWAN & GIG FEST 2024 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre as an Exhibitor. This event was organized by MDEC, bringing together entrepreneurs, small business owners, gig workers, and stakeholders in entrepreneurship and the gig economy for a day of exchange and exploration of current digital trends, providing a platform for individuals to generate income, grow businesses, and forge meaningful connections in the digital landscape.

With close to a thousand attendees, the event buzzed with energy as participants immersed themselves in workshops, booth exhibitions, and networking opportunities. The highlight for many was the opportunity to engage with various programs and initiatives, including the Future of Work (FOW) program by Mereka Academy.

At the FOW booth, attendees had the chance to learn about the program's mission to empower individuals with future-ready skills and opportunities for their career journey. The team behind FOW was delighted to see a high level of interest and engagement from the crowd, with many expressing keenness to participate and collaborate. The atmosphere was described as amazing, welcoming, and filled with curious individuals eager to explore new possibilities. The FOW team also had the pleasure of reconnecting with two of its alumni, Aziemah and Norliana, who used the opportunity to share their experiences with other visitors.

The event yielded significant outcomes and achievements, with the FOW team and Mereka forging new connections and partnerships. Looking ahead, attendees can anticipate future events and follow-up activities, including the official opening of registration for the FOW program, which will be launched in March 2024.

As the eUSAHAWAN & GIG FEST 2024 concluded on a high note, it served as a reminder of the potential for innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration in shaping the future of work in Malaysia.
